Stewed apples are just delicious and oh! so versatile!
Ingredients
700-800g of any apples (Royal Gala, Granny Smith, Braeburn, Cox or cooking), washed, cored and roughly chopped. Do not remove skin
1tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup water
Method
1. Place chopped apples in a saucepan with water and cover the pan.
2. Gently cook over low heat for about 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
3. Continue cooking until apples are really soft and start fall apart. Sir again and add cinnamon.
4. Scoop into a glass container, let to cool and cover with a lid. It will keep in a fridge for 7-10 days.
Use as a topping for yogurt, pancakes, porridge, with smoothies, cottage cheese, pork, chicken or it is delicious on its own.
